Books and historical documents on a library desk

Our Mission

Preserving the American Story

American Legacy Library exists to make the history, faith, and founding principles of the United States accessible to every citizen — through books, free resources, and honest scholarship.

Why We Exist

A Nation Worth Understanding

America's founding was not an accident. It was the product of extraordinary men and women who wrestled with the deepest questions of liberty, governance, and human dignity — and who left behind a remarkable record of their thinking.

Yet that record is increasingly unknown. The letters, speeches, pamphlets, and debates that shaped the republic sit unread in archives and out-of-print volumes. American Legacy Library was founded to change that.

We publish books and free resources that draw directly from primary sources — the Founders' own words, the diaries of soldiers, the sermons of patriots — so that readers can encounter the American story as it actually happened.

Primary Sources

Every claim traced to original documents, letters, and firsthand accounts.

Honest Scholarship

No revisionism, no mythology — just rigorous, fair-minded history.

Accessible to All

Written for citizens, not academics. Free resources always available.

Enduring Principles

Grounded in the belief that the founding ideals remain worth understanding and defending.

The Author

SFC(Ret.) James Goff

Veteran & Founder, American Legacy Library

"I started this library because I kept meeting Americans — educated, thoughtful people — who had never read a word of the Federalist Papers, or a letter from Washington, or a speech by Lincoln. That gap felt like a crisis. This is my attempt to help close it and keep the American Legacy alive and flourishing for all generations to come."
